Well, hello there!
Hello and welcome to our corner of the internet. It's going to be a small corner, what with real life being as busy as it is.
We are a German-Spanish family living in England. You're welcome to stop by and check on us as we visit this place and that in England, watch our children grow, and follow us on our journey towards speaking three languages. If the opportunity arises, there may also be reviews of relevants things such as baby carriers (oooh slings - we love slings!). If we come across food that all the children like, we may also share that here.
Here is a picture of us in late 2016:
Alex(andra): Enjoys being on maternity leave from her job as an administrator and would love to write blog posts far more often than the baby lets her. Would also love to spend a lot of time reading or doing yoga and other lovely things, but mostly only gets to spend time with baby. Which she likes best of all - isn't that lucky? A German in England. At 42 years of age at Baby Alba's birth, an 'older mum'. Boy, getting off that floor from a play session is as uncomfortable as getting onto it and being on it!
J. (let's call him 'Jay'): Hardworking dad in this family. A chemist (the researching type) by day, domestic cleaning fairy by night. The children perpetually foil his hopes of a tidy, orderly home. Lover of history, general knowledge and his messy family. Spaniard in England. Half a year older than Alex but somehow better at prancing around the garden with Nerf guns and carrying baby for hours on end.
Cara: The first-born. Is coming up to eleven and does not want to be spoken in any corner of the internet, however small. We are allowed to say that she loves reading and music and adores her baby sister. And we adore her, despite the incredible mess that she calls "my room". She is better than the best first-born we could have ever dreamt of.
Theo: The middle child that never thought he'd be a middle child but could not believe is good fortune when it happened. Bright, cheeky and full of bouncy energy, lover of animals and hater of writing. This now-sandwich child is seven years old.
Baby Alba: Surprise baby, surprise red-head, this little soul had to wait to join the family until one fateful day her parents thought that taking one teeny tiny little risk - come on! one little teeny tiny risk in 6 years! - would surely not result in a whole new person turning their life upside down. You wait and see, said Baby Alba, and was promptly born nine moths later. Curious and cuddly, she loves her mummy best, shakes with excitement when her daddy comes home at the end of the day, thinks Theo is the funniest person alive, and Cara her safe rock from which to explore and learn about life.
